MOU for FY 2008 and Salary Scales

Finally after months and months of review and re-writes the MOU for FY 2008 is scheduled to go to the Board of Estimates on Wednesday, November 7th. According to finance after the Board of Estimates approval they will start the process of applying the raise and calculating back-pay.
If everything goes as planed (and that’s a big IF) we are hopeful that members should see the raise in the pays following the Board of Estimates meeting. Finance stated that the raise will come first and the back pay will follow...
We know this has been a long and drawn out process but the leadership of both Locals could not sign an agreement without correct salary scales, this was the major holdup. And by the way, our scales were correct.
We are preparing the letter to the Mayor to open negotiations for FY 2009 and the cycle continues.
